Activities

Nowhere on the planet offers the same combination of surfing, spirituality and sun-kissed sybaritic pleasure as Bali. On the Island of the Gods, fresh ideas arrive like waves, creating a glorious cocktail of cultures and influences and a plethora of varied experiences in different regions. We offer guided tours to all the hotspots on the island which can be incorporated within your stay with us. This includes the activities featured below.

Surfing

We can organise surf lessons and private surfari’s to various spots on the island for beginners, intermediates and adrenaline-hungry wave riders. Surfing in Bali is commonly known for its perfect barreling left-hand reef breaks. However, there is also a vast range of world-class right-hand reef breaks. The long list of famous surf spots means no shortage of waves for experienced surfers. Of course, there are also plenty of mellower surf spots for beginners, especially in the Canggu & Seminyak area.

Tegalalang Rice Terrace

40 minutes north of Seed Gardens, is one of Bali’s most photogenic and sought-after destinations. The UNESCO World Heritage Site contains wide, undulating layers of rice paddies, kept alive by an ancient, sophisticated irrigation system and farmers who tend the terraces just as previous generations have done for millennia.

This is one of Bali’s most picturesque and Instagrammed landscapes and, as such, you’ll have to patiently await your turn to get that grid worthy shot. The Bali Swing and the growingly popular Bali Nests are a fantastic addition to your kodak moment against the backdrop of Jurassic Park-style beauty.

Off the Beaten Track

When the outdoors are that good, and the air is that tropical and fresh, it would be a shame to get around exclusively in an air-conditioned car! Cycling will not only set a more relaxed pace to immerse in the sublime island nature, but it’ll also be an enjoyable exercise to help burn some of those holiday cocktails in Seminyak. Discover your own path through the rice fields and villages or sign up for an organized cycling tour in Ubud.

Spiritual Cleanse

Pura Tirta Empul is one of the largest and busiest water temples in Bali. The temple was built around 960 AD and is dedicated to Vishnu, one of the main Hindu gods. The water spring is believed to be infused with magical curative powers from Indra for healing and spiritual well-being. Locals journey from all over Bali especially on holy days to purify themselves in the crystal-clear pools of the sacred water, seeking blessing and protection to ward off evil. The holy water purification ritual is intended to clean any negative elements that exist in the human body. The Balinese people strongly believe that the ritual will also give them energy from the universe and bring spiritual wellness into their lives. The main purpose of the ritual is to receive inspiration for the mind and energy to go about their daily activities.

Shopping

Visit Jalan Cendana for an eclectic selection of island-inspired boutiques such as Kiosk, Bamboo Blonde and Uma & Leopold. From there, venture onto Jalan Kayu Aya to visit Sundays resortwear for a wide range of brightly-coloured dresses, tops and kaftans.

Sunrise Trek up Mount Batur

Mount Batur is one of Bali’s spectacular active volcanoes, and easily the most popular day trip for a sunrise hike. The trip begins early at around 2am, where you’ll be picked up and whisked to the base of Batur for a hike in the dark. By the time you reach the highest peak and crater, the sun will just be rising, which is when the beauty of this island adventure really unfolds. You’ll realise you’re right above the clouds, with Bali’s volcanic landscapes glimmering a golden hue below.

Monkey Forest

Known as the Monkey Forest Ubud and arguably one of the most-visited attractions in the area, this reserve is home to three Hindu temples and hundreds of macaque monkeys. As you walk through the lush path and cross the stone dragon bridge, you’ll see the animals sprawled around the grounds and climbing from tree to tree. Some are friendly enough for photo ops, but some can be a bit more aggressive.
